Kathleen is a personal injury lawyer who handles claims in Ottawa and across Eastern Ontario. Kathleen’s main areas of practice include motor vehicle accident claims, slip and fall and general negligence claims, as well as long term disability claims.
Kathleen joined SG Injury Law after having completed both summer and articling programs at a mid-size full service firm, where she was exposed to both plaintiff-side and defence-side personal injury claims. Kathleen’s exposure to insurance defence claims has provided her with valuable insight making claims against insurance companies for her clients. Since her call to the Ontario bar, Kathleen has limited her practice primarily to plaintiff-side claims; representing people who are injured or impaired and who are seeking compensation or disability insurance coverage.
Kathleen graduated cum laude with a Juris Doctorate from the University of Ottawa and holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Queen’s University. While at law school, she participated in the Ticket Defence Program, a legal clinic that offers legal advice and representation to homeless or street-involved individuals. She also completed an internship with the Government of Canada’s Department of Justice, Law Practice Management Division.
Kathleen has appeared at the Ontario Superior Court of Justice; the Ontario Small Claims Court; the License and Appeals Tribunal for automobile accident claims; and the Ontario Injuries Compensation Board.
Outside the office, Kathleen likes to spend time with her friends and family, hiking and traveling. You can also find her at the dance studio teaching competitive dance.
