Ottawa Notary Public and Commissioner of Oaths Services

At SG Injury Law, we are proud to provide Commissioner of Oaths and Notary Services to our clients in Ottawa.

We are able to offer a variety of services in person to our clients including:

Witnessing Documents

Notary Publics are appointed by the province and serve as witnesses to signed documents.  This is done via affixing their seal and signing the document in person here at our Ottawa office.

Affidavits and Declarations

As Commissioners of Oaths, we are able to administer a variety of oaths as required by law. An affidavit is a document containing statements that an individual swears before the Commissioner to be true and is witnessed by us. A declaration is swearing an oath or affirmation in the presence of a Commissioner who administers the oath and must also be satisfied with the authenticity of the identity, the signature of the deponent or declarant before affixing their seal, stamp and signature.

Certified True Copies

In lieu of providing an original document, such as a will or government identification, it is sometimes necessary to have a copy verified by a Notary Public. In order to do so, we will need to examine the original document to compare to the copy. Once we are satisfied that the copy is a true copy of the original, we will sign and affix our seal to the copy.

Fees

For each of these services, we charge $30.00+HST for the first document and $20.00+HST for each additional document or service.

Please call 613-518-2416 ext. 6 to book an appointment for our Commissioner of Oaths and Notary Services.
